We had a fun day on the Skykomish River near Monroe, plugged the prime spots for Chum & Coho and targeted steelhead in between (thinking another week or so). Good to get a few fish before the floods!

There's no better way to preserve salmon. Here is last night's batch of chrome fall coho & kings smoked to perfection! Dry brine (brown and white sugar, garlic, onion, pepper, kosher salt) for a day, air-dried overnight, and in the Big Chief most of the day. I brushed on a cider/honey/brown sugar glaze as it was finishing up... MMMmmm!
