We fought valiantly on the behalf of critical services, but in the end of the day we were not able to convince voters to expend resources in this difficult economic environment. Phenomenal news - King County has secured an agreement with Metro transit workers that waives COLAs for 2011. Now over 90% of county employees have joined efforts to save costs and balance the county's budget by giving up pay increases. This agreement is further evidence of a combined effort to make a difference in this difficult budget environment for all the citizens of our county. Now let's finish our work and pass Prop 1!
