Every Child Known—How VEPTSA supports Viewlands 03/30/2026

💙 What makes Viewlands so special? It’s our shared belief in “Every Child Known.”

This isn’t just something written on the building, it’s the compass that guides our entire community.

At Viewlands, families, educators, neighbors, and volunteers all play a role in creating a place where students feel seen, supported, and able to thrive. It takes all of us, showing up, giving time, sharing resources, and caring deeply, to make that vision real.

This short video captures a glimpse of that impact and the power of community partnership at Viewlands. If you’ve ever wondered what makes this school community so strong, this is it. 💙

The annual Salmon Celebration at Carkeek Park is this weekend! Bring the whole family and don't forget to stop by the Viewlands Elementary table to learn about the salmon in schools program and see beautiful salmon artwork by our students. 🐟

This Saturday! Venture down to Carkeek Park with your family to share a true Northwest experience: local salmon spawning. Throughout November, Piper’s Creek in Carkeek Park is home to one of Seattle’s most viewer-friendly salmon runs. Join Seattle Parks and other friends to celebrate the salmon's homecoming with snacks and hot drinks, music, dance performance, a salmon scavenger hunt for kids, activity booths, “Bert the Salmon” and "Ollie the Viewlands Elementary Orca".

Hello Viewlands Friends - Sharing this special free family-friendly event here for any families that would like to celebrate Dia de Mu***os tonight.

As many of you know, every year in late October - early November Viewlands has a beautiful tradition around El Dia De Los Mu***os, including a school ofrenda and themed artwork. Students use their personal connections, stories, and inspirations to create beautiful sugar skulls and paper tissue flowers. The ofrenda offers a space for students and staff to share pictures of their loved ones who have passed. Students also learn the cultural significance this tradition has within the Latinx community.

Viewlands friends — It’s hard to believe, but summer is almost over and school starts NEXT WEEK! Viewlands Elementary PTSA is supporting purchasing school supplies for every student this year. Please consider a donation using the link below to support our classrooms. Share with neighbors and friends!

☀️ Happy August, Orcas! In partnership with Viewlands, we are launching a new program this year to make Back-To-School season a little simpler for us all. We are replacing individual classroom supply lists with a $30 Community Supply Fee!

Since classroom supplies are already communal at Viewlands, it makes sense to have common supplies that are the same. This fee ensures each teacher and classroom has exactly what they need, and allows VEPTSA to buy supplies in bulk.

📣 Check this off your list right away by clicking through to our Givebacks site!
https://wspta-00023289.givebacks.com/shop/items/1203777

We ask all families, that can, pay the $30 per student. Additional donations to support a student or family that is currently not able to cover this fee are always welcome, and will be put to good use!

📍All contributions are tax-deductible!

With this switch to a supply fee, that means the only physical items that families are asked to provide for their child are a backpack & reusable water bottle. Plug in headphones to use with student devices at school are optional, but highly encouraged!

💙 If your family needs support obtaining a backpack or water bottle, please reach out to Ms. Lin, our office administrative assistant, at [email protected]
