Earlier this month, students from Forest Ridge School painted some beautiful panels for us and brought them over to hang in our garden.
RVFB stands as a trusted community resource, serving as Seattle’s busiest food bank.
RVFB is the primary emergency food resource for Seattle’s most racially, ethnically, and economically diverse neighborhood, and home to many people of color, immigrants, and refugees who regularly face systemic obstacles to living wage employment, affordable housing, and food security.

Last month, we hosted Sawhorse Revolution and a group of youth to kick off the design process of our donor appreciation tree, a piece that will honor our Capital Campaign and the supporters who made it possible. 🌱
Together, we explored our space, shared our vision, and reflected on what community means, then began shaping the look and feel of the tree that will live in our food hub.
We’re so excited to bring this project to life with Sawhorse and to create a lasting symbol of the people and support that brought us here.

Last month, we hosted our annual Book Fair - Feast on Books: Food For Thought, connecting our neighbors to books, resources, and food at this one-stop shop. It was such a lovely day that even the veggies were jumping for joy (swipe to the end to see them!)

Your generosity always leaves us feeling grateful for the community we've cultivated together. Your collective gifts maintain free access to groceries and connections to support services for our South Seattle neighbors who rely on our food bank. Every gift is an act of solidarity, investing in the future we all believe in—one where we nourish one another and are richer for it.
This year, 205 neighbors came together to help nourish our service in solidarity for our collective work towards sustained food access in South Seattle, raising over $93,000.

GiveBIG is here, and this year, we're asking for your help in raising $85,000 to fund our food bank's services. The story of serving in solidarity is one we embody every day as stories of community care unfold at our food bank.

We've seen what our new food hub means to our neighbors: an intentional space for food access—one that's been long-awaited and eagerly anticipated. It's provided a space for more conversations, more choices back in our neighbors' hands, and more connection to resources.
Our work is powered by continual acts of solidarity, from monthly gifts to volunteer shifts and warm flute music that welcomes you into the courtyard on grocery shopping days.
This year for GiveBIG, we’re raising $85,000 to strengthen this collective work—because community care is powerful, and when we invest in one another, we all rise. Can we count on you to join us by making a gift?
