Uplift Northwest (formerly Millionair Club Charity) is a Seattle nonprofit providing jobs & job-readiness services to people experiencing poverty & homelessness. For nearly 100 years, Uplift Northwest has operated as a nonprofit temporary staffing organization with services geared to the needs of a person who is in poverty, or is homeless, and likely with little to no resources to become job-ready

Thank you for showing up in a way that truly changes lives💚
One person can make a difference in someone’s journey...for RISE graduate Dean & her puppy, Chewy, those steps are life-changing.
Through the Uplift Northwest RISE program, Dean gained more than job skills, she found a community built on respect and care. When a real barrier came up, that community showed up.
During the 4-week program Dean needed additional support for Chewy. Enter Matt, Uplift’s front desk security. He stepped in to care for her companion during class so she could be fully committed to completing the program. “The services and opportunities being provided to us are truly a blessing and I'm really appreciative.”
Today, Dean is moving forward with confidence and always lifting others up along the way: “I want you to hear me encouraging you, that you can do it. I believe in you. I see what you are capable of, and you rock.”
Your gift today removes barriers to create lasting change💚
Give today and get matched! All gifts up to a total of $5,000 will be matched dollar for dollar! Show up for your neighbors. Uplift the next journey: give.upliftnw.org/spring26

Our work is best understood through the people it supports! That’s why our newsletter centers the stories behind the work, including Demetrick’s.
Demetrick came to Uplift Northwest after being evicted and living in a shelter. Through the RISE training program, he found employment, housing support, and the stability he needed to move forward.
“The most important thing that Uplift did for me was help me with shelter. You can’t really think—you’re in survival mode. That took me out of survival mode.”
Today, Demetrick leads Uplift's custodial services and is planning for what comes next. “As far as my future, I want to start my own handyman business...”
Stories like Demetrick’s along with exciting updates, milestones, and opportunities for you to engage are shared exclusively in the monthly Uplift Update newsletter.

“What I discovered is that RISE is more than just a program. It’s a community, a challenge, and a chance to grow in ways we didn’t think was possible. We were pushed beyond our comfort zones. We learned new skills, faced new challenges, and were encouraged to think differently.”
“We will carry what we’ve learned here into our futures. Let’s continue to challenge ourselves and believe in our ability to rise above the obstacles.”
— Najah, Cohort 10 Graduation Speaker🎓
Every person, like Najah, in RISE made a choice — to show up, to realize their full potential, and to move toward stability and self-sufficiency. Growth didn’t happen to them; it happened because they leaned into challenge, possibility, and belief in what could be next.
At Uplift Northwest, we recognize the courage behind that choice. We believe that when people are given opportunity, they thrive. Congratulations to the graduates of RISE Cohort 10💚🎉
💭Ask yourself: When have you stepped outside your comfort zone? How did it change you?
Applications for the next RISE cohort open May 4 at 8AM: https://upliftnw.org/rise-program/
