The project is part public art installation, youth education, and online historic preservation of the black music tradition and culture in the Central District. Pratt Youth Art Works is matching local students with four community artists to design, create and install four installations celebrating four genres of music; jazz, funk, soul/gospel, and hip hop.

The murals from the original site on Jackson Street need a home. Construction of some affordable housing starts soon at the site. The owners of the site bought the mural of Ernestine Anderson to put in the courtyard of the new building. The other mural by Eras and the one by Kazm need homes. PM me if you are interested.

The Game Not Fame crew will be painting all Saturday and Sunday on S. Weller St just west of Rainier Ave in Little Saigon. Grab some pizza and a beer at Humble Pie and watch. Be sure to show the artists some love too!

Control What You Can Mural Project 07/29/2014

Get a sticker, t-shirt, your logo on the wall, or more. Just donate some duckets. The mural is going up in late August. Stay tuned for announcements about dates for painting parties.
