Yesterday I signed a landmark agreement that will guide the future of Skagit Hydroelectric Project. This agreement reflects what it looks like for Seattle to move forward together: partnering with Tribal nations, protecting the environment and salmon passage, and ensuring Seattle continues to benefit from reliable, clean energy for decades to come.

It's National Skilled Trades Day! Today, we're celebrating the 556 skilled trades professionals at Seattle City Light. From the hydroelectric machinists maintaining our powerful dams to the auto mechanics keeping our fleet on the road, their expertise and hard work keep our city running.
With a growing need for skilled workers, now is a great time to explore a career in the trades. We had a fantastic time connecting with future leaders at the Washington Women in Trades Fair last week and are excited about the next generation of trades professionals.

10:00 p.m. Update: Crews have made significant progress on this evening’s power outage in Queen Anne. They are now focused on bringing the remaining 189 customers back online. We appreciate your continued patience!
7:15 p.m. Update: This outage has been reduced to ~2,400. Our crews have identified a downed power line as the cause and are working as quickly and safely as they can to get everyone's power back on. We appreciate your patience.
Crews are responding to an outage in the Queen Anne area affecting approx. ~6,800 customers. The cause is under investigation, and an estimated time of restoration is yet to be determined. Follow along on our outage map at: www.seattle.gov/poweroutage

Meet Lily Tang, our Program Delivery Data Engineer Intern! Lily graduated from the University of Washington with a Master of Science in information management, specializing in data science and business intelligence. During her time at City Light, she has put her skills to work on several projects. Lily built an internal tool to automate customer satisfaction survey emails and created a workflow to make the entire survey process smoother. Her work has made our processes more efficient and helped us better understand customer feedback to improve our programs.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Seattle City Light. It’s a fast-paced, efficient, dynamic, and genuinely fun place to work,” shared Lily.
