Alhumdulliah, in 2025, Muslim Housing Services (MHS) housed almost 1,000 people across King County, most of whom were homeless.

We are well into the blessed month of Ramadan, and the Muslim Housing Services team has been hard at work, with food distributions in full swing.

Each week, essential staples will be reaching low-income families across our homeless programs and community, helping ensure they can observe this sacred month with greater comfort and stability, despite the ongoing challenges of housing and food insecurity.

This important work is made possible through the generosity of our local mosques and community partners. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Islamic Centre of Eastside (ICOE), Masjid Umar Al-Farooq in Mountlake Terrace, and Delta Dental of Washington, for their continued support.

During Ramadan, your generosity is being felt in homes, where help is needed most.

As Ramadan approaches, our community enters a season of deep empathy, renewed devotion and boundless charity. This week, Muslim Housing Services distributed Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA)-sponsored Ramadan Food Boxes to families, one of our key Ramadan food initiatives. As families prepare for the holy month, we know how meaningful it is to have the right kind of nourishment for nightly iftar meals.

With generous support, we provided food boxes filled with essential staples commonly used in Ramadan meals, helping formerly homeless and low-income families welcome the month with ease and dignity.

Ramadan reminds us of the importance of caring for our neighbors and easing their burdens. This initiative reflects that spirit, bringing comfort and nourishment to families as they prepare for the blessed days ahead.

Alhamdulillah, we are grateful to everyone who made this effort possible and extend our heartfelt appreciation to IRUSA for uplifting our community.
