EOS is excited to officially welcome Antonio "AJ" Gutierrez as our new CEO!
AJ as he's more popularly known, brings over 14 years of leadership in education nonprofits, including over 10 years as Cofounder and Chief Policy and Public Affairs Officer at Saga Education.
His career has centered on eliminating barriers to opportunity for underserved students, making him a perfect fit to lead EOS’ work to expand access to advanced courses.
With AJ at the helm, we’re looking forward to deepening our education sector and donor partnerships to help more schools nationwide.

Last year, EOS piloted a program to identify motivated middle school students and enroll them in advanced courses like Algebra 1 and Pre-AP, placing them in postsecondary pathways early on.
Our team recently gathered to share insight from our pilot, and align on a plan to enhance our tools to better support students and teachers as we expand into middle schools nationwide this year.

Aaron Cruz, a ninth-grade guidance counselor at Pelham Preparatory Academy in The Bronx, was named as a trusted adult by many students on our student surveys.
One of those students is Luis Ortiz, who Cruz met as an incoming freshman and has mentored into a student leader with EOS' RISE (Re-Imagining Student Engagement) program.
