Happy Earth Day! Join us for the Last Community Playground Design Meeting Tonight 6:30 - 8:00pm in the Lawton Commons. We will be serving Dippin Dots
Imagine an improved Lawton Community Playground, be a part of the design process. The playground is open to the public any time school is not in session.
Come engage in a discussion to modernize the playground and redesign the surrounding space to create an inviting, physically, and intellectually stimulating, inclusive and safe environment for our students and all community members. This is the first in a series of community workshops to gather input from the community. This project is funded in part by a Neighborhood Matching Fund award from Seattle Department of Neighborhoods.

Instead of holding our typical General PTA Meeting on January 22nd, we will be hosting the 2nd Lawton Community Playground Meeting from 6-7:30pm. The landscape architect firm of Johnson + Southerland will be presenting three options for voting and discussion by everyone in attendance. They have taken all of the community suggestions from the first meeting, the input from the meeting with Lawton Staff, and the playground design assignment from the children to produce the three options. We will be offering pizza at this meeting. This will be the second community meeting in the series of three workshops and showing up to the meeting counts as a direct match to the grant. This project is funded in part by a Neighborhood Matching Fund award from the City of Seattle, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods.
