Parents Day Out!
We are happy to announce that the Black Family Council will host its first fundraiser of the school year! Parents' Day Out will be on December 13th (Yes, that's a Saturday) from 11 am - 3 pm. Take this opportunity to do some holiday shopping, winter cleaning, or enjoy some quiet time with a book. Whatever you do, mark your calendars and look out for information coming soon! And if you already have plans for that day and would like to donate to the Black Family Council, there will be a way to do so. Wednesday, October 15th is Walk & Roll to School Day!

Walk, bike, or roll to school on October 15th and receive a prize and high fives 🖐️!

Walking, biking, and rolling to school supports exercise, reduces pollution, and connects neighbors. Studies even show students arrive at school more attentive and ready to learn. Can't walk all the way? Park a couple blocks away from school and walk in!

¡El 15 de octubre es el Día de Caminar y Rodar a la Escuela!

¡Ve caminando, en bicicleta o en rodar a la escuela el 15 de octubre y recibe un premio y choca esos cinco!

Caminar, andar en bicicleta o en rodar a la escuela promueve el ejercicio, reduce la contaminación y conecta a los vecinos. Los estudios incluso demuestran que los estudiantes llegan a la escuela más atentos y listos para aprender. ¿No puedes caminar todo el camino? ¡Estaciona a un par de cuadras de la escuela y camina!

Reminder! Tomorrow is our first PTA Community Meeting of the school year. Our core agenda item is the budget! We have entered the school year with a deficit and have had to made numerous suggested budget cuts. The PTA fills some of the gap between what public/tax funding provides and what our students and community truly need!

¡Recordatorio! Mañana es nuestra primera Reunión Comunitaria de la Asociación de Padres y Maestros (PTA) del año escolar. ¡Nuestro tema principal es el presupuesto! The first day of school for 1st - 5th grade starts tomorrow, Wednesday, September 3rd!

Normally, Wednesdays are early release days, but NOT on the first day of school. So please make a note that students will be released at 2:25p on September 3th only.

This is an excellent opportunity to meet your students' teachers, chat with the admin, learn more about school services, and find out their class assignments for the school year. We look forward to seeing you there! We ask that no one take pictures of the class lists to protect our students' privacy.
