American Legion-Ballard Post #40

It's June 14th, Flag Day! Fly yours proudly! It is the symbol of our nation that songs are written about. Sing it loud and proud!

Busy month almost over; 17th of May parade color guard; Armed Forces Day ribbons hand out; Memorial Day Poppies. We have covered it all with a skeleton crew. Thanks to all who have supported us, and to those Veterans who still care for our community.
Looking for new members from the latest conflicts, which are getting dated themselfs. Show up at a meeting soon, we break for summer July-August, back in September.

9/11, Patriot Day is a day full of reflection. Today as we fly our flags at half -staff, light our candles, and reflect, our thoughts and prayers go out to all those effected by the events of 9/11.
To all of service members and those who answered the call to combat terrorism and protect or communities, Thank You!
Post 40 will never forget.

Memorial Day is this Monday, the 25th. Usually Post 40 would be fundraising and spreading the word about Memorial Day at our beloved Ballard Fred Meyer. If you would like to donate to our Veteran Assistance Fund, please visit Post40.org and click on the PayPal Donate Now link. 100% of the donations will go towards helping veterans in our community.
Our favorite part of fund raising on Memorial Day is that we get to share experiences with members of our community. It is here we get to remember the service and sacrifice of others. For some when we speak about someone who gave all, the service member's memory continues on.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to meet like we normally would but we still recognize that sometimes Memorial Day can be a challenging day for some. Though we cannot meet in person, we encourage you to reach out if you need to talk and use any benefits that you may be entitled to. Honor the memory of our service members, taking time this Memorial Day to reflect and appreciate the service of our fallen heroes.

On Veterans Day we will be handing out poppies and collecting donation for our Veteran's Assistance Fund. 100% of your donation goes to a great cause to support your veteran community. You can find us at the Ballard Fred Meyer between 10 AM and 4 PM. If you cannot make it you can always donate online on our website, post40.org .

Next Tuesday, 11/12, we will be meeting at 6PM for food and fun. 7PM we will be having our meeting at our normal location. All veterans and their family are welcome!
