This May, we honor the love, strength, and sacrifice of kinship caregivers who step forward to keep families connected and children surrounded by care.
We are inspired by the 2026 Kinship Voices of Children and Caregivers booklet and stories like Taneika’s: "Even through loss, love showed up- and it stayed. And so did I!!"

“Home is more than a roof — it’s dignity, healing, belonging, and hope.”
In the Intercommunity Peace & Justice Center Spring issue, CCSWW CEO, Jilma Meneses, reminds us that our call to serve is rooted in compassion, justice, and the belief that every person deserves to feel safe, seen, and loved. We’re excited to partner with Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle High School through their Corporate Work Study Program! Cristo Rey is a college-preparatory Catholic high school in Rainier Beach in Seattle, and we’re honored to support their mission by helping students build professional experience that sets them up for future success. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to opportunity, advancing human dignity, and forming young people for lives of purpose, leadership, and service.
We’re excited to welcome Catholic Community Services of Western Washington (CCSWW) as a new Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle Corporate Work Study Program partner!
For more than 100 years, CCSWW has served individuals and families across our region with compassion, dignity, and care. As the Catholic Church’s human services outreach in Western Washington, the organization provides housing support, behavioral health services, family and youth programs, and support for neighbors facing poverty and hardship.
We’re grateful to have CCSWW join our Corporate Work Study community and look forward to the meaningful experiences this partnership will bring to our students.
Welcome, CCSWW!

We are proud to celebrate CCS Network Builder, José Ortiz, on receiving the Liberty Bell Award from the Skagit County Bar Association at the end of April!
This award recognizes individuals who advance justice in their communities, promoting respect for the law, strengthening civic responsibility, and expanding access to justice for all. Honorees are known for their integrity, leadership, and deep commitment to uplifting those most in need.
A true champion of our CCS Farmworker Center, José lives out the call of our faith and Catholic Social Teaching, advocating for the dignity of farmworkers and walking alongside our neighbors with compassion and care.
We are grateful for José’s witness to justice, mercy, and love in action. Congratulations José and NW team!
