Earlier today PSD Research Consulting Software announced the results of the 2020 Geospatial Maturity Assessment. This assessment gauges the maturity of local government enterprise GIS in the United States and Canada.
The King County GIS Center was ranked #5 in North America, following 1) City of Calgary (AB), 2) City of Irvine (CA), 3) District of North Vancouver (BC), and 4) City of Burnaby (BC). The City of Seattle also ranked in the top 25 (22). King County GIS increased its assessment score overall and increased its ranking from #16 last year. See:

The American Geographical Society has published a website to record and chronicle the stories of Twentieth Century Black Geographers. Based on a 2003 anthology of Black geographers by Joe T. Darden and Lucia Terra, which includes a bibliography of selected publications, the AGS project provides a publicly available, single-source database that chronicles the contributions of Black geographers to the discipline of geography. This collection includes photographs and biographies full of illuminating facts.
