Garfield High School is hosting Reclaiming the Village, a follow-up to the inaugural summit held in August. This event is created to center Black families, students, and the community-based organizations that support them.
The purpose is to build stronger relationships, connect families to meaningful supports, and gather input to inform how we improve—especially in how we support students and partner with families.

This event is part of Garfield’s broader commitment to building stronger partnerships with families.

Happening Now - Photos from the Reclaiming The Village Summit capture this important community gathering happening now at Garfield High School. Families, students, educators, and community members are coming together to support Black students, share experiences, and discuss ways to create a more inclusive and supportive school environment. Listening sessions, open discussions, and volunteer opportunities are all part of today’s ongoing effort to build a stronger village for Garfield’s Black families and students.

Calling for CURRENT Black Families at Garfield High School and all of the many community stakeholders that program in and around Garfield to join us next Saturday, August 16th, 2025 for ! We know that when Black Students do well, everyone does well. We aim to build upon the great legacy of Black Excellence at Garfield during the 2025-26 school year and beyond.
