Sometimes comfort makes all the difference.
Ryan, the Seattle Police Department's beloved comfort dog, continues to support children, families, and community members during some of their most difficult moments.
In 2025, Ryan supported more than 100 individuals, including children navigating forensic interviews, by simply being present, offering calm, reassurance, and a sense of safety.
Recently, the Seattle Police Foundation supported the creation of patches connected to Ryan's work. These patches are given to individuals he has supported, serving as a small but meaningful reminder of strength, comfort, and resilience.
We're proud to support programs like this that provide connection, compassion, and care when it matters most.

This week, the Seattle Police Foundation supported a unique training experience with members of a regional executive leadership group.
Participants learned life-saving medical skills and gained insight into the high-stress environments first responders often face when making critical decisions.
We are grateful to the SPD instructors who dedicated their time and expertise to making this experience possible and for opportunities like this that strengthen understanding and partnership with our community.
Experiences like this help build understand, strengthen relationships, and highlight the professionalism and preparation of those who serve our city.

Supporting those who serve.
Recently, the Seattle Police Foundation was proud to support a peer support wellness training that brought together officers and civilian staff from across the department. The training focused on strengthening the peer support network within SPD, equipping participants with tools and resources to better support colleagues who may be going through challenging moments.
Participants spent time discussing the importance of mental health, learning about resources available locally, and exploring ways to recognize when someone may need support. Just as importantly, the training created space for open conversation and connection among those committed to looking out for one another.
Strong peer support programs help ensure that the people who serve our community every day have access to the care, understanding, and resources they need.
The Seattle Police Foundation is proud to support initiatives that prioritize wellness, resilience, and the wellbeing of those who serve Seattle.
