Cleaning up! We've received several inquiries about yard signs. Our signs are biodegradable, so please recycle them! If you can please save the metal stakes, we will collect and donate them to a future schools levy campaign. You are welcomed to drop them off on our back porch or we can get them from you at some point soon. We also need to clean up our city and remove signs from the public right of way. We will be touring around and picking up as many as possible, but your help in cleaning up any you see would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Suzanne Dale Estey for Seattle School Board We can do that through smart planning and leveraging the incredible opportunities in our region.
"I’m excited to apply my hands-on skills building partnerships that improve outcomes—for students, families, and communities,” said Dale Estey. “We have so much work to do to improve what is already great about our schools, and fix the things that aren’t working. We owe our kids nothing less than our best efforts.”

Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Over the last several months I have had the tremendous honor of meeting with thousands of voters across the city and hearing their hopes and desires for high quality education for all of Seattle’s kids. It has been an inspiring and overall fun adventure. I have learned a great deal from hardworking educators and leaders throughout the District, families who are deeply invested in making public education work, and thoughtful student and other community leaders. We have helped push the District and the community toward finally making progress on long-standing challenges, and we have kept conversations focused on solutions.
It appears that the votes aren’t there to win this election, and I just called Sue Peters to congratulate her on a hard fought victory. I wish Sue and the entire board great success in their work for Seattle’s 51,000+ public school students. I am deeply grateful to each of our hundreds of generous volunteers, endorsers and contributors who pitched in to this great team effort, to my best friend and amazing partner, Mike, our wonderful sons, Dale & Noah, and to all of our family and friends for their unwavering support. Onward!
It's not too late to VOTE! Most post offices are open until 5:00 pm and drop boxes are open until 8:00 pm: http://www.kingcounty.gov/elections/voting/ballotreturn/locationlist.aspx

Looking forward to our FINAL candidate forum this evening from 6:45-8pm at Lawton Elementary, hosted by the PTA. All District IV schools have been invited and all are welcomed. Hope to see you there!
Great feedback from a voter: "I heard Dale Estey speak in SE Seattle the other night and was impressed. Have followed up with research and now feel she is definitely the right candidate for our school board." 13 more days!

Ended a good day at the 46th District Democrats meeting -- I deeply appreciate the sole endorsement of the district in which I grew up. Also enjoyed listening and talking with folks at the Southeast Seattle Education Coalition meeting, and attending the Board's work session on growth boundary challenges. 18 days to go!

Another night of power campaigning! Finished the evening at former School Board President Al Sugiyama's Beacon Hill home engaging with former District administrators, teachers, SPS alums and community members. Many thanks to Al and former School Board Director Jan Kumasaka for your support! Was also impressed with strong public testimony at the School Board meeting about boundary decisions impacting communities, enjoyed conversation at the North Seattle Chambers/Neighborhood Forum and appreciated the good questions at the Maple Leaf Community Council meeting. 19 days to go!
Over the last few days, I’ve been asked about one of our campaign volunteer's actions. We have had a great outpouring from volunteers across Seattle, so I was surprised as anyone to read about these issues. To be clear: I do not condone negative campaign tactics by anyone who works for, volunteers with or supports my campaign. I hope my opponent would be willing to say and stand by the same, as the disrespectful attacks by her and her supporters have been consistent for months and are extremely disappointing.
The message for me is simple in these final three weeks before the General Election: let's stay focused on the issues and solutions to the School District's significant challenges. All of our campaign messaging, including guidance that is given to our dozens of volunteers -- from volunteer talking points to e-mails to online media -- reinforces to our supporters our desire to remain positive and focused on the issues. We will continue to do just that. Our students and this community deserve a respectful, responsible election.
