Thanking God for our guy Z***** for his decision to get baptized and for M**** and H***** for boldly sharing their testimonies. We are so thankful to see God moving in all of them!

Shoutout to Valley Foursquare Church for showing much love and care to our guys!

“Hard heart + hard head = hard time”

— Durell Green, speaking about his life experiences

So grateful for Durell, who inspires our young people inside and out of prisons and jails. On Sunday at Echo Glen, Durell encouraged our youth with message from Ezekiel 36.

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭36‬:‭26‬

So thankful for and proud of our guy M****!!! On Sunday, he boldly shared about his life and struggles, prompting many at the church to thank and encourage him. Also, Durell Green delivered an uplifting sermon about true peace and the source of it. Grateful for Pastor Nsimbi and Washington Cathedral for partnering with us!

We thank God for Coach Dominique Davis (far right) for speaking to our youth at Echo Glen on Sunday. Coach Dom powerfully shared how God transformed him, from him destroying lives to him helping give hope and healing to his community. He encouraged our youth to let God help them change their minds by studying Romans 12:2. Lamando (second from left) also spoke about how God is changing his life. Our young people expressed much gratitude to Coach and Lamando. We are grateful for Coach Dom and his team at Community Passageways (including Kim, second from right).

We are so thankful for Durell Green! He has devoted his life to God and to helping our young people. Speaking at prisons (left photo), group homes (bottom), and with those who have exited incarceration (top right), God is using Durell in life-changing ways.

Praising God for Mike Davis who engaged with our youth at chapel at Echo Glen about God’s peace and how we may not feel God in the low points of our lives. Many of them expressed appreciation for Mike and for talking about very real and relevant matters. Also grateful for Leann Taamu, Durell Green, Jonathan Abe, and all of our team who are so dedicated to our young people. YouthUnlocked.org

We changed our name! Our new name is UNLOCKED and are so excited because this has been in the works for a long time. Our former name, King County Youth Chaplaincy, served us well for over 15 years, yet it could also be confusing and limiting. Some thought we were part of the county government, though we never received any funding from government entities.

As our relationships with our youth took us to state facilities, we started engaging with youth from beyond King County. We thank God for growing our opportunities and allowing us to form impactful relationships with young people from all over the state. Thank you for standing with us and helping us grow!

“This is my favorite part of the work.” — Durell Green Take less than a minute to watch this video and hopefully be encouraged! As always, we are careful how we publicly present our young people for various reasons, so we include only those who really want to do it. When we asked J if he wanted to be in this video, his first reaction was, “Let’s do it!”
PS - This was done in one take! (Video length: 59 seconds.)
