Pollination garden and beehive enclosure cared for by volunteers. Free and open to the public. Field trips available upon request.

Helping the public connect with nature, and learn about the interdependent relationship between pollinators and our ecosystem was the driving force behind the WSBG's creation.

Bee Fest was amazing! We had some very PNW weather, but we stuck it out. Thank you so much to all our vendors! Ask a Master Gardener, Tilth Alliance, DNDA, City of Seattle Waste Water Management, WA Native Bee Atlas, Puget Sound Beekeepers Association, Friends of West Seattle Elementary, Suzanne Simmons, Master Composters, and thank you to our amazing volunteers!

Today we got up fresh chicken wire to protect the new bees, set to arrive in 2 weeks!!
We also had to put up a bee-safe wasp trap. Not our favorite thing in the world, but we had a pretty solid several nests built over the winter, and we need our new bee friends to be safe.
The bees are set to deliver the 22nd if you are interested in joining us, timing will be posted as soon as we get confirmation.
Then we will start regular monthly classes and meet ups to talk bees!

Huge thanks to Thyra of for bringing incredible enthusiasm and knowledge of Mason bees to girl scouts this afternoon. And, big thanks to troop #43899 for sponsoring this year's Mason bees in the bee garden!

The scouts got to hold a baby bee cocoon, and are now equipped to set up their bees in the garden, monitor for and other pests, and know when to pull the house out of the garden to preserve the cocoons. Did you know Mason bee houses need to be cleaned every year to control for mites, mono wasp, Houdini fly and foulbrood fungus?? Rent Mason Bees does that dirty work for you. They also provide loads of education on their YouTube channel so you can learn to do it yourself.

They still have Mason and leafcutter bee kits available, check out their pop up at the tomorrow, Saturday, March 28th, 12-2pm.
