4Culture We're the cultural funding and services agency for King County, Washington! How can we support you?

As the cultural funding agency for King County, Washington, 4Culture works to make our region vibrant. Using lodging tax and percent-for-art revenues, 4Culture’s staff, board of cultural advocates, advisory committees, and peer review panelists support a diverse array of cultural endeavors.

4Culture’s four main program areas—arts, heritage, public art, and historic preservation—put public resources to use all over King County, ensuring access to cultural opportunities for all. From museum collections to theater productions, from restored historic buildings to artists showing work for the first time in our gallery, look for all the ways we are at work in your community.

Hey, we funded that! SENSORIUM is an interactive, visual art installation that explores how digital saturation reshapes intimacy within the living nervous system of a home. Seven Seattle visual artists will construct an “eclectic mansion” of rooms, each with a distinct aesthetic voice, for audience members to interact within and inhabit. Don't miss it!

We're thrilled to have helped fund YOU: Through the Valley of Shadows, an international group exhibition on view October 7–10, 2026 at the University of Washington’s Art Building Basement Galleries.

Curated by Nikoloz Nadirashvili, YOU brings together five artists—Gabriel Siams (Brazil/Portugal), Aura (Portugal), Tivon Rice (United States), Paulo Mendes (Portugal), and Daniel Padrino (Venezuela/Portugal)—who each examine the ideological foundations of Portugal’s twentieth-century Catholicism-based dictatorship.

Don't miss it!
