A former Chief of the Secaucus Fire Department, longtime member of Washington Hook & Ladder Co. #1, community leader, mentor, and friend to generations of firefighters, his impact on our department and community is immeasurable.
Chief Heflich was honored with special recognitions from Governor Mikie Sherrill, U.S. Senator Andy Kim, and numerous other elected officials and local, state, and national fire service organizations who joined us in recognizing his many decades of dedicated service.
A special thank you to Mayor Michael Gonnelli and the Secaucus Town Council for their continued support and for helping make this lasting tribute to Chief Heflich possible.
We also extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped plan, prepare, participate in, and attend Saturday’s ceremony. Countless individuals and organizations came together to make this an unforgettable day for Chief Heflich and his family.
Most importantly, thank you, Chief Heflich, for a lifetime of leadership, mentorship, friendship, and service. Your legacy will continue to inspire generations of Secaucus firefighters to come.
