Our Sedalia Middle School Booster Club has a great idea to show a little extra appreciation for our amazing teachers during Parent-Teacher Conferences!

On Thursday, October 29, we would love to have Local Eats & Sweet Treats set up at SMS to provide dinner for our teachers as they spend the evening meeting with families and supporting our students.

If you would like to help make this meal possible, we are accepting donations of any amount. Every contribution—large or small—helps us provide a special meal and reminds our teachers just how much our SMS families and community appreciate them.

Thank you for helping the SMS Booster Club take care of the people who take care of our Tigers every day! 🐯💛🖤

Any donation is greatly appreciated!

🧱🌱 WE HAVE THE FOOTPRINT…NOW WE NEED THE BRICKS! 🌱🧱

Our Native Garden at Sedalia Middle School is officially beginning to take shape!

The footprint has been prepared, and now we are ready for the next phase: building the brick barrier that will hold approximately 18 tons of soil and create the foundation for our Native Garden.

And this isn't just going to be a garden.

It's going to be a living classroom. 🌱🔬🦋

This winter, our students will winter sow native seeds and become responsible for caring for the plants as they grow. When spring arrives, those young plants will make their way into our Native Garden.

Students will have the opportunity to observe, investigate, ask questions, collect data, study pollinators, explore native plants, and learn about Missouri ecosystems—all right here at school.

🌿 We couldn't do this without our community partners!

A HUGE thank-you to:

🪨 B&P Excavating – providing the soil
🌳 City of Sedalia – providing mulch
🌱 Sedalia Parks & Recreation – providing native seed
🌿 Hi Lonesome Master Naturalists – providing native seed
🌼 Susan Lordi Marker – providing native seed

Now we're asking YOU to become part of the team!

🧱 BRICKS FOR BLOOMS

$1 = 1 brick.

That means:

🧱 $10 = 10 bricks
🧱 $25 = 25 bricks
🧱 $50 = 50 bricks
🧱 $100 = 100 bricks

Our fundraiser also includes larger sponsorship opportunities for businesses, organizations, families, and community partners. Brick Fundraiser 26-27

Our goal is to secure the bricks by October 30, 2026.

Why October 30?

Because we want to get the brick barrier built, get our soil in place, and have the garden ready for our students to begin planting and growing. 🌱

❤️ Will you help us build it?

You don't have to build the entire garden.

Just help us build one brick at a time.

Every brick represents another small step toward a space where students can learn, explore, protect, grow, and work together.

🧱 Join our team.
🌱 Support our students.
🐝 Help our pollinators.
🌼 Grow something that will last.

Let's build our Native Garden together!

Want to donate? Send cash or check with your student and mark it as a donation for Native Garden. Thank you! We’ll keep track of all our wonderful donors!

Please send cash and checks to the front office at the Sedalia Middle School/ please mark bricks for Bloom

🐯 CHARACTER STRONG ASSEMBLY 🐯

September’s Character Strong trait is Courage, and our Tigers are starting the school year strong by showing bravery, facing challenges, and stepping outside their comfort zones.

Courage means having the confidence to try new things, speak up, make good choices, and keep going even when something feels difficult. It’s about believing in yourself, standing up for what is right, and being willing to take positive risks.

Our Tigers are showing every day that courage can look different for everyone. It might mean trying something new, standing up for a friend, asking for help, or persevering through a challenge. These Most Valuable Tigers (MVTs) were recognized by their teams for demonstrating courage and being positive examples to others.

During our Character Strong Assembly, we celebrated these students and their commitment to showing Courage throughout the month of September.

Way to go, Tigers! Keep being brave, supporting one another, and showing what it means to be ! 🐯💛
