❀️ IF YOU HAVE A LOVED ONE IN TDCJ, READ THIS.
You don't need to become a parole expert overnight.
You don't need to know every rule.
And you definitely don't need to believe everything you read in a Facebook group.
Start with what you can do.
Learn.
Verify.
Document.
Organize.
Prepare.
That's what this page is about.
TDCJ Parole Prep Resources isn't TDCJ, isn't the Parole Board, and isn't a law firm.
It's an independent educational resource created to help families better understand parole preparation and become more organized along the way.
If that's something you need, FOLLOW this page.
Then introduce yourself below. πŸ‘‡
You don't need to give names, TDCJ numbers, charges, or anything private.
Just tell us:
What part of the parole process are you trying to understand right now?
Let's build a community where families can learn instead of guess. ❀️

⚠️ DON'T WAIT UNTIL PAROLE REVIEW TO START LOOKING FOR THIS STUFF.
If your loved one is completing things while incarcerated, start keeping records now.
Create a folder.
It can be paper, digital, or both.
Start organizing:
πŸ“„ Program certificates
πŸŽ“ Education
πŸ› οΈ Vocational training
πŸ’Ό Work assignments/history
πŸ“ Important correspondence
πŸ† Accomplishments
🏠 Release-plan information
❀️ Support letters
You don't want to be scrambling later trying to remember what happened two or three years ago.
DOCUMENT IT AS IT HAPPENS.
πŸ“Œ Save this post so you remember.
πŸ‘‰ I've also created a FREE parole plan checklist on the TDCJ Parole Prep Resources website to help families figure out where to start.
And please SHARE this post. There is probably another TDCJ family on your friends list who needs to see it.

🏠 LET'S TALK ABOUT HOME PLANS.
Your loved one calls and says:
β€œI'm putting your address down for parole.”
What's the first thing you would want to know?
A lot of families think a residence plan begins and ends with providing an address.
But there's a bigger question:
πŸ‘‰ What will everyday life actually look like if they come home?
Transportation. Employment. Household expectations. Financial responsibilities. Support. Appointments. Treatment if needed. Backup plans.
These things are connected.
πŸ‘‡ If your loved one came home tomorrow, what do you think would be the BIGGEST challenge during the first 30 days?
I want families who have already been through reentry to answer too.
Your experience might help somebody preparing for it right now.
❀️ Follow TDCJ Parole Prep Resources for more family-focused parole preparation information.

πŸ“£ FREE RESOURCE FOR TDCJ FAMILIES
If you're helping a loved one prepare for parole, I want you to ask yourself one question:
If they were released tomorrow, could you explain what their plan actually looks like?
Where will they live?
How will they support themselves?
Who will support them?
How will they get to work and appointments?
What have they done while incarcerated to prepare?
What happens if they need continued treatment or services?
Those are the kinds of questions families should be thinking about before the last minute.
That's why I created:
πŸ“‹ 7 Things Every Strong Parole Plan Packet Needs β€” A FREE Family Checklist
It's completely FREE.
πŸ‘‰ Visit the TDCJ Parole Prep Resources website to download your copy.
After you download it, come back and comment GOT IT so I know you're following along. ❀️
πŸ“Œ Save this post and share it with another TDCJ family who may need it.

πŸ“„ What goes into a parole packet?
✍️ How to write a support letter?
πŸ“… Understanding parole dates?
πŸ”Ž Knowing what information to trust?
❀️ How to actually help your loved one prepare?
I created TDCJ Parole Prep Resources because families shouldn't have to spend hours digging through information just to figure out where to start.

🚨 **TEXAS PAROLE FAMILIES β€” DID YOU KNOW?** 🚨

Did you know that the parole review process can begin **months before the actual parole review date**?

That means waiting until the review date is right around the corner can leave families scrambling to gather information, organize documents, prepare support letters, and make release plans.

πŸ“Œ **Don't wait until the last minute to start preparing.**

Families should consider starting their preparation **as early as possible** so there is time to:

πŸ“‹ Gather important case and parole information
πŸ“„ Organize supporting documents
πŸŽ“ Gather program, education & vocational certificates
πŸ’Œ Begin working on support letters
🏠 Establish a realistic housing plan
πŸ’Ό Develop an employment plan
πŸš— Plan transportation
🀝 Identify family and community support
πŸ“ Organize a comprehensive parole preparation packet

The earlier you start, the more time you have to identify information that is missing and work on the areas that still need attention.
