Jail Booking/Release:
• Joksan Ramirez-Jimenes, 27, Seneca was arrested by NMSO on 9-16-2026 on charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without A Valid License. He posted $175 cash bond for that charge on 09-16-2026 with court set for 10-28-2026 at 9:30a.m. He was released on 09-17-2026 to the custody of ICE on their detainer.
• Auron Hoskins, 18, Topeka was released on time served on 9-16-2026.
Crash Reports:
• On 9-16-2026 at 8:35a.m. Brett Kaberline, 18, Onaga was traveling North on D Road 0.5 miles North of 96th Road when he struck a deer. Kaberline was driving a 2007 Ford F150. Over $1000 damage.
• On 9-15-2026 at 6:56a.m. Jennifer Matson, 47, Vermillion was traveling southbound on B Road 0.5 miles North of K9 Highway when she struck a deer. Meade was driving a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. Over $1000 damage.
• On 9-17-2026 at 1:41p.m. Brian Rusche, 53, Seneca was backing into an alley on 4th Street in Seneca when he struck a parked vehicle. Rusche was driving a 2025 Case SV280B. The parked vehicle was owned by Lisa Holthaus. Under $1000 damage.
• On 9-14-2026 at 6:29a.m. Shelli Wimberly, 57, Vermillion was southbound on D Road 0.3 miles South of 80th Road when she struck a deer. Wimberly was driving a 2015 Ford Explorer. Over $1000 damage.

Jail Booking/Release:
• William Holmes, 48, St. Joseph, MO was released on 9-9-2026 on a $15,000 surety bond. Court is set for 10-6-2026 at 9:30a.m.
• Auron Hoskins, 18, Topeka was booked into the Nemaha County Jail on 9-9-2026 on a Nemaha County warrant for Probation Violation. Hoskins remains in custody. Bond is set at $10,000 cash/surety.
• Uriah Fairchild, 49, Centralia was arrested by NMSO on 9-10-2026 on charges of Possession of Hallucinogenic Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Stimulant. Fairchild was released on 9-11-2026 on a $2500 surety bond. Court is set for 10-13-2026 at 9:30a.m.
Crash Reports:
• On 9-9-2026 at 7:27a.m. Elizabeth Hanzlicek, 29, Senecca was traveling southbound on W Road 0.5 miles North of 96th Road when she struck a deer. Hanzlicek was driving a 2021 Toyota Sienna. Over $1000 damage.
• On 9-5-2026 at 6:15a.m. Donny Howard, 23, Hiawatha was traveling eastbound on 192nd Road 0.55 miles West of W4 Road when he struck a deer. Howard was driving a 2023 Honda Civic. Over $1000 damage.
• On 9-6-2026 at 5:19p.m. Justin Petry, 43, Centralia was traveling eastbound on 24th Road 40 feet West of R Road when he was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Cameron Kramer, 16, Goff. Petry was driving a 2009 Kenworth T800. Kramer was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado. Kramer and his 2 minor occupants were transported to the hospital by ambulance with injuries. Over $1000 damage.
• On 9-12-2026 at 6:39a.m. Ryan Wheeler, 29, Sabetha was traveling southbound on 6th Street 300 feet South of Jefferson Street in Sabetha when his vehicle struck a parked vehicle. Wheeler was driving a 1994 Jeep Cherokee. Parked vehicle is a 2014 Ford Edge owned by Paul Pearson. Wheeler was transported to the hospital by ambulance with injuries.

The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate the owner of a stamped 700-725 lb heifer that has been located in the Northwest part of Nemaha County on September 10, 2026. If you believe this calf might belong to you, please call the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office and speak with Sheriff Vernon to identify and claim the animal at 785-336-2311. There will be a feeding charge associated with the recovery of the animal.

• Loel Strahm, 57, Hiawatha was released on 9-8-2026 on a $1000 Own Recognizance bond. Court is set for 10-22-2026 at 4:00p.m.
• Corey Gorman, 40, Hiawatha was released to the custody of Kansas Department of Corrections on 9-2-2026.
• William Holmes, 48, St. Joseph, MO was arrested by Seneca PD on 9-4-2026 on charges of Flee or Attempt to Elude, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Interference with LEO, Reckless Driving, Driving Under the Influence, Transporting an Open Container, Speeding, and Improper Driving on a Laned Road. Holmes remains in custody. Bond has been set at $15,000 cash surety.

Crash Reports:
• On 9-2-2026 at 6:29p.m. Bernard Palmer,77, Seneca was traveling westbound on US 36 Highway 541 feet East of D Road when he collided with the railroad crossing bar. Palmer was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Blazer. Over $1000 damage.
• On 9-2-2026 at 9:13p.m. Kellan Spielman, 21, Sabetha was traveling northbound on W Road just South of 176th Road when he struck a deer. Spielman was driving a 2024 Ford Explorer. Over $1000 damage.
• On 9-1-2026 at 5:05 an unknown vehicle went off the road on P Road 50 feet East of 160th Road striking a fence. Over $1000 damage.
• On 9-5-2026 Devin Sutton, 28, Abbeville, SC was traveling northbound on D Road 0.4 miles South of 72nd Road when he struck a deer. Sutton was driving a 2015 GMC Denali. Over $1000 damage.
• On 9-7-2026 at 9:33a.m. Lukas Reitz, 26, Louisburg was traveling southbound on K63 Highway near 136th Road while Stephen Kramer, 73, Seneca was northbound. As Kramer was attempting to navigate the curve in the roadway, he crossed the center line. When he corrected his vehicle to get back in his lane, he lost a hay bale from his trailer. Reitz who was southbound swerved to miss the hay bale and went into the ditch. Reitz was driving a 2015 Ford Fusion. Kramer was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado. Under $1000 damage.
