A massive thank you to the Sequim High Class of โ€˜96! ๐ŸŽ“โœจ

During your 30-year class reunion at the RJB Barn, your generosity raised $250, our largest single donation yet for the barn restoration project!

This contribution directly fuels our mission to preserve this local landmark. Every dollar brings us closer to securing the barn's future, and these funds will go straight toward our savings for the essential upper east side roof replacement.

With your help, we have now raised $1,834 toward our $30,000 goal!

Thank you for your continued support, your generosity, and for helping us keep this history alive.

Time moves fast, but the soul of this prairie stays the same. ๐ŸŒพโœจ

Watch the sun rise to paint the rainbow roof and the dusk settle over the Sequim Prairie in this time-lapse of the RJB Barn.

Looking at this beautiful cycle, itโ€™s hard not to feel a deep wave of nostalgia for the 1940sโ€”when our great-grandparents, Dell and Allene Ray, had just completed building these stable timber walls.

Back then, the barn was waking up for its very first seasons of life. The fields were lush, green, and thriving as the life-giving waters of the Dungeness River flowed steadily through the irrigation ditches, feeding the crops and sustaining the livestock.

Decades have rolled by, and while our daily relationship with the land and the river has changed, these old barn bones still stand proud as a testament to Sequimโ€™s rich farming heritage.

Watch a full day pass over a piece of our history that we are working hard to preserve for generations to come. โค๏ธโค๏ธ

Celebrating Jeff Belfield: A legacy of adventure, craftsmanship, and a rainbow roof. ๐Ÿšœโœจ

Today, Jeff would have been 67. Though he passed in 2020, his spirit lives on in every corner of the RJB Barn. Jeff used the barn for everything from housing cattle, pigs, and horses to storing hay, creating the barnโ€™s iconic rainbow roof in the 1980s, and building the Hound Dog Hotel in the '90s.

This photo captures Jeff Belfield, the 3rd generation of our family connected to this land, alongside his daughter Dawn, representing the 4th generation, and his beloved grandchildren, Mira and Cameron, the 5th generation. Looking at this picture, you can see our family's timeline continuing right before our eyes, with the barn's rainbow roof in the background.

Happy heavenly birthday, Jeff. We hold your memory close and continue to honor your hard work under the rainbow roof every single day. ๐Ÿฉต๐ŸŽ‚

โœจ A trip down memory lane at the RJB Barn โœจ

In this classic late-1970s photo, you can see Jeffery (Jay) Belfield Jr.โ€”the 4th generation of the RJB Barn familyโ€”enjoying a sunny day in his parents' backyard. ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿง’๐Ÿผ

If you look past that classic shaggy pink plush puppet heโ€™s playing with into the background, you'll spot the upper west side of the RJB Barn's original cedar shake roof. This was taken just a decade or so before Jeff Belfield (3rd generation) installed our iconic, hard-to-miss rainbow roof in the late 1980s! ๐ŸŒˆ

We love looking back at where it all started. ๐Ÿ โค๏ธ

We love a good timelapse video here at the RJB Barn! ๐ŸŽฅโœจ

Take a look at the Sequim High Class of 1996 crew hard at work transforming the space for their big Saturday night reunion.

You can even see that "disco barn" effect happening inside as they work! ๐Ÿชฉ That natural light show comes courtesy of our original upper east side cedar shake roofโ€”it has quite a few holes and definitely needs to be replaced, but it sure makes for some fun lighting in the meantime! โ˜€๏ธโœจ

Standing beneath this historic timber, you canโ€™t help but think about all the decades of life this barn has seen. It makes you wonder: in all its years, has the RJB Barn ever witnessed a barn dance or a bash quite like the one about to go down? ๐Ÿค ๐ŸŽถ

The stage is set, the dance floor is ready, and the wolves are back! ๐Ÿบ

Getting ready for an unforgettable night at the RJB Barn! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›

We are thrilled to host the Sequim High Class of 1996 for their 30 year Reunion!

The decorating crew showed up and worked pure magic. The photos show them hard at work, turning our rustic space into the ultimate celebration hall!

The barn ancestors are dusting off their overalls and getting ready to party right alongside us. Back in their day, these weathered timbers only knew rugged pioneer agriculture, clanking machine shops, towering stacks of sweet hay, and the chorus of hound dog kennels. They never dreamed this hardworking barn would throw a bash like this, but their spirits will definitely be cuttinโ€™ a rug with us! ๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ’ƒ

A huge thank you to:
Brad with LiteHouse Shelters for getting the space sparkling clean and ready.

The Class of โ€™96 decorating crew for putting in the work and giving these old barn bones a stunning new look!๐Ÿ“ธ

Keep an eye out for more photos and videos of the reunion!
