New film available from PBS:

She Cried That Day (57 min)

SHE CRIED THAT DAY is a documentary chronicling the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women’s Crisis through the lens of one Indigenous woman haunted by her sister’s unsolved murder. We bear witness to the emotional journey thousands of families must suffer through as their loved one’s cases sit on the shelves, and we investigate the system that allows it to continue.

Content warning (from film): This film explores complex trauma, domestic violence, and the Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives Crisis. Take care to protect your spirit.

An Indigenous woman is haunted by her sister's unsolved murder.

Looking for something interesting to watch at home? PBS premiered the documentary "Knowledge Keepers" on Sept. 23rd and is now streaming it online. Run time: 54 min.

Here is the synopsis from their website: In a fascinating exploration of human ingenuity, see how indigenous communities in North America have long practiced a distinct version of science and engineering. This journey reveals how deeply-held cultural traditions inform remarkable innovations, from ancient sea farming techniques that optimize ecosystems to celestial navigation methods perfectly adapted to extreme environments like the frozen Arctic. See how centuries of observation, experimentation, and adaptation have forged solutions to complex challenges like living in the harsh climate of the desert Southwest. Prepare to reconsider what you know about science and its role in our lives.

Witness how Native North Americans have generated scientific knowledge over thousands of years.
