Sevierville Fire Department The official page for the City of Sevierville Fire Department

Fire Chief Matt Henderson Our fire district consists of the City Limits of Sevierville.

The Fire Department is charged with the protection of and/or the minimization of any impact to our citizens, visitors, and environment from the results of uncontrolled fire and/or disasters, either natural or man-made. It can be viewed at https://mdib.seviervilletn.org/arcgis/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=75e5acd29f0f456c9d25e398bf70fdc3

In addition to the traditional duties of fire suppression, fire prevention and public education, we also provide plans review, codes enforcement and inspections. We provide the community with a Tennessee Department of Health approved Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) responder program which operates under the authority of the Sevier County Emergency Medical Director. The ACLS program operates when we have a paramedic on duty. All personnel are certified as emergency medical technicians. We have personnel that are certified in accordance with NFPA standards in Vehicle Extrication, Swift Water Rescue, High Angle Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue and Hazardous Materials response. We now have 3 internationally certified Technical Rescue instructors and 1 Rescue 3 Corporate instructor. We are recruiting Reserve Firefighters as trainees from the Fire Chiefs Association Rookie School that have demonstrated superior skills and learning abilities. Those that join the program are offered advanced training to create a corps of prospective employees to meet our needs in the future.

BEFORE YOU BURN, GET YOUR PERMIT!

With fall here and cooler weather approaching, it’s important to know the rules before starting an outdoor burn.

Starting October 15th through May 15th, burn permits are required statewide for applicable outdoor burning, including for those outside the City of Sevierville. Permits are available through the Tennessee Department of Agriculture Division of Forestry here: https://www.burnsafetn.org/

Burning Within Sevierville City Limits:
The City of Sevierville requires burn permits year-round for brush piles, large bonfires, and uncontained yard debris under Section 7-102 of the Sevierville Municipal Code. However, outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, and contained backyard units do not require a permit. City permits may be obtained here: https://www.seviervilletn.org/468/Open-Burning

Stay safe, Sevierville, and enjoy the fall season! 🍂

FIRE PREVENTION WEEK: Don't ignore the warning signs!

We use our phones every day, but a damaged or overheating charger can become a serious fire hazard. If a charger or cord feels unusually hot, is frayed, melted, or damaged, stop using it and replace it. Avoid overloading outlets and keep electronics away from anything that can burn. ⚡
