Twenty-five years later, the weight of September 11, 2001, is still felt deeply within the fire service and across our nation.

Today, we remember the 2,977 lives lost, the families who never got to say goodbye, and the 343 FDNY firefighters who climbed those stairs knowing others were depending on them.
Their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to others represent the very best of the fire service. We honor them not only by remembering how they died, but by remembering how they lived — with courage, compassion, brotherhood, and a willingness to serve.

May we never forget their names, their families, or the sacrifice made that day.
343. Never forgotten. Always honored. 🇺🇸

Special Thank You: Monster Media, Merle's Flower Shop, Seward County Independent and all of our members that helped us set up this remembrance.

As America celebrates 250 years of freedom, we proudly honor the courage, sacrifice, and spirit that have defined our nation since 1776. The tradition of anvil firing echoes the celebrations of our early ancestors, symbolizing the strength and resilience that forged America. The Seward Volunteer Fire Department is honored to carry on this historic tradition as we celebrate our nation’s past, serve our community today, and preserve this legacy for future generations. 🇺🇸
