Ms. Rachel and the library staff are thrilled to present and celebrate Elianna and Luke, our latest achievers of the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program!
Both have successfully completed the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten early literacy challenge! Families play a crucial role in supporting these literacy initiatives for children, and we are always excited to meet and honor the remarkable kids and their families who achieve such impressive reading milestones.
Why does this challenge matter?
The “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” challenge is a fantastic way to prepare your child for school. By reading just one book each day, you can achieve this goal in less than three years. Remember, every story—even those cherished favorites—counts toward your total!

Look at this beautiful romaine lettuce. It is growing in the community garden by the gazebo at Seymour branch library. You are welcome to cut off a head or two for your personal use for free. Enjoy it now before it starts to bolt as it warms up come June. This garden is maintained by Seymour Farmers Market
