πŸ‘»πŸš‘ Who ya gonna call? AMBULANCE 5! πŸ‘»

Heather and Jaecarr from Ambulance 5, along with Paramedic Supervisor Trueblood joined the fun at this year's Trunk or Treat, bringing along a few of their ghostly friends from Ghostbusters! πŸ‘»

Things got a little spooky when the crew had to break out their airway skills and intubate the Green Ghost (Slimer)! πŸŸ’πŸ˜‚

We're always ready for a little excitement, whether it's saving lives or saving the world from ghosts!

Happy Halloween from all of us at JCEMS! πŸŽƒπŸš‘

Today, we officially waved goodbye to Medic 1 as it hit the road for Decatur, Indiana, to begin its remount process! πŸš‘πŸ’¨

With nearly 215,000 miles logged on its 2021 chassis, this rig has served Jackson County tirelessly, and it’s earned a well-deserved refresh.

We’ll be sharing progress updates as it undergoes its transformation. It’s not goodbye, Medic 1... it’s see you later. Stay tuned!

Laughter is the best medicine, especially off the clock! πŸš‘πŸ˜„

Members of our C Shift family headed to Indianapolis today for the Heroes Off Duty comedy show.

At JCEMS, family comes first, and building strong bonds outside of shift work is something we always encourage and value above all else.

Glad our crew had a fantastic time kicking back, recharging, and sharing some laughs together!

***Update***

We’ve received quite a bit of feedback asking why we would use this tool, so we wanted to provide some clarification.

This evacuation slide is intended for non-emergency situations where a student with a disability may need assistance safely exiting a school bus. It provides another option when a traditional evacuation may be difficult.

In a life-threatening emergency, the priority is getting everyone off the bus as quickly and safely as possible. Emergency responders would use whatever means necessary to accomplish that.

Seymour Community Schools has chosen to equip its buses with this tool so it is available if we determine it is appropriate for the situation. It’s simply another resource in our toolbox, and like any emergency equipment, its use depends on the circumstances.

Our goal is always the same: keep students safe and make sure we have options available when seconds and circumstances matter.

πŸšŒπŸš‘ TRAINING TODAY FOR THE EMERGENCIES WE HOPE NEVER HAPPEN! 🚨

β€œThey say a good supervisor leads by example… Paramedic Supervisor Trueblood just took that straight to the emergency exit!” πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸΌ

Today, Jackson County EMS, alongside the Seymour Fire Department, participated in the first day of School Bus Emergency Evacuation Training! πŸšŒπŸš’πŸš‘

During today’s hands-on training, crews reviewed school bus emergency exits, evacuation procedures, and the importance of safely and efficiently removing passengers in the event of an emergency.

A huge thank you to Seymour Community Schools for taking the time to organize and lead this valuable training! Over the course of three days, all on-duty crews will have the opportunity to participate, strengthening our knowledge, skills, and preparedness.

While we certainly hope we never have to put these skills to use in a real-life emergency, being prepared BEFORE an emergency happens can make all the difference when seconds count! ❀️

And of course, we couldn’t let the day go by without catching Medic Supervisor Trueblood leading by example! πŸŽ₯πŸ˜‚

A big thank you to Hoosier Ag Today for choosing JCEMS M4 for your photo with Purdue University to help bring awareness to the hidden dangers of agricultural work!

Agriculture is a vital part of Indiana, but it also comes with unique risks that can be easily overlooked. Raising awareness of these hazards helps protect the farmers, families, and communities who keep our agricultural industry moving.

We’re proud to see JCEMS represented in an effort that highlights the importance of agricultural safety and the role emergency services play in protecting rural communities! πŸš‘πŸŒΎ

Production agriculture in Indiana is producing record yields with fewer workers than ever before, but the cost of getting grain into the bin and livestock to market continues to be measured in human lives. According to the

πŸš‘ Thank you, Redding School! πŸš’πŸš“

A big thank-you to Redding School for inviting Jackson County EMS to participate in their annual Safety Day!

EMTs Bella and Holly had a great time interacting with the students, answering questions, and helping teach our next generation about the importance of emergency preparedness and safety.

One of the things that makes Jackson County truly unique is the incredible collaboration between our emergency response agencies. Today, we were proud to be alongside:

πŸš“ Seymour Police Department
πŸš” Jackson County Sheriff's Office
πŸš“ Indiana State Police
🦌 Indiana Conservation Officers

When you call 911 in Jackson County, you're not calling just one agency, you're calling one team made up of many agencies working together.

Different uniforms. Different roles. One mission: keeping our community safe. β€οΈπŸ’™

Thank you to all of our emergency responders who work together every day, and thank you to Redding School for allowing us to be part of such a great event!

πŸš‘πŸ€πŸš When the mission goes beyond the road… we take it to the sky.

When time is of the essence, providing the right care and getting patients where they need to be can require multiple agencies, multiple crews, and sometimes… teamwork that literally gets off the ground. 🚁

From ground crews providing care and coordinating the scene, to flight teams continuing the mission from the air, it all comes down to one shared mission:
The right care. The right resources. The right destination. As quickly and safely as possible.

We’re especially thankful for our flight friends and the teamwork that makes these missions possible. πŸ’™πŸš‘πŸš

Ground to air. One team. One mission. No wasted time.

🚁 IU LifeLine Γ— JCEMS LZ Training πŸš‘

It was a great week of training alongside our friends from IU LifeLine!

IU LifeLine joined JCEMS to give our crews a hands-on opportunity to become more familiar with their aircraft, landing zone operations, and the proper procedures for safely working around the helicopter.

We may not get the opportunity to work alongside their flight crews every day, but when we do, preparation matters. Knowing what to expect and how to safely operate around the aircraft allows everyone to work together efficiently while providing the best care possible and getting our patients where they need to be.

A huge thank you to the IU LifeLine crew for taking the time to train with us, answer questions, and share their knowledge.

Different uniforms. Same mission. One team when it matters most. πŸšπŸš‘
