This year, SPU has already hosted one Red Cross blood drive with another one on the horizon taking place on November 18. Additionally, we’re heading into this holiday’s season of giving with Toys for Tots and Gifts for Seniors drive.

Don't forget, Shakopee - Fall Clean Up is Coming!

In partnership with Louisville and Jackson Townships, and Scott County, the City of Shakopee is hosting its fall clean up on Saturday, October 17 from 7:30-11:30 a.m. at Shakopee Public Works (400 Gorman Street). And while you're cleaning up, don't forget about new battery-powered tools! Lawn mowers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, and trimmers qualify for an SPU rebate. There are several thousand hydrants throughout our water distribution system. Each year between 100-200 are repainted on a revolving schedule, keeping our community looking freshand well-maintained. If the hydrant in your neighborhood isn't painted this year it will be on its rotation.
