🚦 TRAFFIC TUESDAY: SCHOOL ZONES 🚸

School zones require extra attention, and extra patience!

As you travel through a school zone, remember to:

· 👀 Watch for posted speed limits and flashing school-zone signals.
· 🚸 Be alert and watch for crossing guards and children entering or leaving the roadway.
· 🛑 Expect stopped or slowing traffic, especially during arrival and dismissal times.
· 📵 Put your phone down and keep your focus on the road.
· 🐢 Slow down and give yourself plenty of time and space to react.

A few extra seconds of attention can make a big difference.

Help us keep our kids safe!

Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3! 💥

A large detonation is scheduled for Sept. 10 between 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a backup date of Sept. 11 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Our neighbors in the surrounding areas may hear a large detonation during these windows. No major roads will be closed for this mission.

is thankful for our community's continued support while we push the boundaries of testing and securing our nation's defense!

🚨 If someone you know has been drinking, don’t let them get behind the wheel.

📱 Call them a ride.
🚗 Find them a sober driver.
🏠 Take their keys and help them get home safely.

Make a plan because “I’m fine to drive” is not a plan. And “I only had a couple” isn’t a magic exemption. Be the friend who steps in. You might save a life!

🚔 Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.

🚗 Designate a sober driver.
📱 Use a rideshare or taxi.

Don't let one bad decision turn a great summer into a lifelong consequence.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.

Arrive alive, don't drink and drive!

"I'm fine to drive" is a choice that ruins lives in a split second. 🍺❌

With about 30% of all traffic deaths linked to drunk driving, law enforcement is out in full force to keep our roads SAFE.

Protect yourself and others:
📱 Schedule a rideshare
🚕 Call a taxi
🚙 Have a sober friend drive you home

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.

🚨 DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER 🚨

This isn't just a slogan. This is what the aftermath of impaired driving can look like.

The damage in this photo is a powerful reminder that one decision to drive after drinking can change, or end lives in an instant. It can leave someone seriously injured, take a life, devastate a family, or put an innocent person in the path of a completely preventable crash.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 11,904 people were killed in alcohol-impaired-driving crashes in 2024.

The 2026 Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign runs through September 7, with law enforcement agencies nationwide increasing efforts to identify and stop impaired drivers.

🍺 If you drink, DO NOT DRIVE.
🚗 Plan a sober ride before you start drinking.
👥 Designate a sober driver.
📱 Use a rideshare, taxi, or other safe transportation.
🔑 Never let someone who has been drinking get behind the wheel.
📞 If you see an impaired driver, safely pull over and call 911.

There is no excuse for impaired driving!
There is always another way home.
Drive sober. Get home. Let everyone else get home, too.

Today, we had the opportunity to witness a simple act of kindness that deserves to be recognized.

Officer Hankins responded to a call for a stranded motorist who believed they had run out of gas. Before we could make any arrangements, a passing motorist stopped and offered to help. He happened to have a gas can, volunteered to go get fuel, and returned a short time later to get the motorist safely back on the road. When the stranded driver offered to reimburse him for the cost of the gas, he politely refused, saying he simply wanted to help.

We want to recognize Ben, with Sun State Services, who took time out of his day to help a complete stranger! Your generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand are a wonderful reminder that there are still kind, caring people in our community.

Thank you for being a bright light in our community and for stepping up when someone needed help. Your selfless act reminds us that even the smallest gestures of kindness can make a lasting difference. We truly appreciate you!
