Sunday is the day!!! October 25th!!

I would like to keep this Sunday trail clean up thing going! We got a later start than I would like, but let’s try this again and see if we can get a good crew or two out on the trails cutting back brush and making trails safe again! We have a few target areas I want to hit and then we can also assess some trails and see what we can do to continue making our system safer and better for those of us who use them!

If you have any pole saws and chainsaws please bring them along as well as brush clearing tool. If you have ATV or side by side you can bring them to use. The club also has a couple.

Reminder...Sunday October 25th at 9am. We will meet at Matt Leck’s house 23 White Pine Lane Shapleigh. From there crews will head out to work on clearing trees and brush and some much over due cutting trails back/wider for safety and clearance, also taking notes for future trail work days.

ALSO, high school aged kids that need volunteer hours to meet their graduation requirements, this is an excellent way to log hours, have fun, and learn and help maintain snowmobile/ATV trails! We need more kids to get involved in these activities or we will lose these trails as the newer generations seem to not be into this sort of thing as much.

As always many hands will make light work and there will be additional work parties forthcoming for other issues that will need to be addressed.

Had a great turn out of volunteer club members today for a big bridge replacement job that was basically finished today, besides a few bridge markers and finishing touches! A huge thank you to everyone that turned out to help today, with everything from hot coffee, drinks, snacks, lunch, equipment, machinery, manual labor, etc! Great job today, and again thank you to everyone that showed up! Volunteers keep these trails rideable, please join the club and help us maintain these trails so you can enjoy them! This is the trail that heads to Balch Pond from Shapleigh pond. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT SHOWED UP! Enjoy the candid pics! I’ll try to get them in correct order…..

Sunday is the day!!!

Rich, Ron and Bob have acquired the needed materials and have already been hard at work getting things prepared for Sunday's work party by getting the poles out to the site!

If you have any battery impact drivers and saws that will be of help with the bridge building please bring them along as well as brush clearing tool.

Reminder...Sunday October 18th at 9am. We will meet at Matt Leck’s house 23 White Pine Lane Shapleigh. From there crews will head out to wok on the D Trail bridge as well as clearing clogged culverts and the beaver dam at Spicer pond and up to Abbot Mountain.

As always many hands will make light work and there will be additional work parties forthcoming for other issues that will need to be addressed.

Good morning all,

The temperature has begun to drop…the leaves are turning and it’s fair season here in New England! That can only mean one thing…wea re gearing up for snowmobile season!

Next Wednesday, October 7th we will have out monthly club meeting at Willy’s Ale Room beginning at 6pm…coming out of summer where meeting attendance is traditionally low we are hoping to see more faces at the meeting as we will be talking about upcoming work that will need to be done.

This year IFW has made their rounds of our trails and we have a list of items that need to be addressed for them to continue our grant funding so we need to get some trail work complete and that take our volunteer force mobilized!

We are looking to plan the first work party for Sunday October 18th at 9am. We will meet at Matt Leck’s house 23 White Pine Lane Shapleigh. From there crews will head out to wok on the D Trail bridge as well as clearing clogged culverts and the beaver dam at Spicer pond and up to Abbot Mountain.

As always many hands will make light work and there will be additional work parties forthcoming for outer issues that will need to be addressed.

Rich Leary will be leading the work parties and is available most day if anyone is interested in going out to work on the trails please just reach out to Rich at (781) 248-2646!

Thanks
