A Special Town Meeting will be held to vote on a citizens' petition on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at Sharon High School.

The Select Board voted Sept. 14 to set the date for a Special Town Meeting after receiving a citizen petition, signed by 314 voters, calling for one.

The petition asks that an article be placed on a Special Town Meeting warrant to see if residents will vote no confidence in five members of the current School Committee.

Due to the State Election the poll pads used for checking into Town Meeting will not be available. We will check people in using paper lists. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Please consider this slower check-in process when making your arrival plans.

An electronic voting system is now used for votes which previously required a standing count. Voters will be given a clicker when they check in. It cannot be traced to you and your vote will be anonymous.
