Update 2.0:
DISCLAIMER: The City of Shawano is merely trying to keep our residents and visitors as informed as we can regarding these detour routes...please remember we are simply the messenger in this situation!
That being said, we were informed this morning that they will NOT be shutting down Hwy 29 today (Thursday) and will instead be completing that work on tomorrow, Friday, September 25th. They are still planning for the detour to start at 9:00 AM and finish around 2:00 PM so traffic is rerouted back to Hwy 29 prior to the start of the parade. Thank you!

🚧 TRAFFIC DETOUR NOTICE 🚧
We have just been made aware that beginning around 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 23rd, all westbound traffic on Highway 29 will be diverted off the highway at the Highway 22 exit (Shell Station).
Westbound traffic will be detoured through downtown Shawano via Main Street to Green Bay Street, then directed west on Green Bay Street back to Highway 29.
This detour is expected to last several hours.
Please be mindful of increased traffic along Main Street, Green Bay Street, and surrounding areas during this time. Drivers are encouraged to plan accordingly, allow extra travel time, and use caution while traveling through the detour route.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation!
