🚨 HELP KEEP OUR TRANSFER STATION OPERATORS SAFE! 🚨

It's important to keep hazards out of the scrap metal pile — including batteries 🔋, fuel ⛽, propane tanks 🔥, and items containing refrigerants ❄️.

When these materials are crushed or damaged, they can spark fires or explosions that put staff, equipment, and facilities at risk.

Fires caused by hidden batteries and fuels are a growing safety concern across recycling facilities, with incidents causing major damage and injuries.

Before you drop off scrap metal, take a moment to remove anything explosive or fuel-containing. When in doubt — ask an attendant.
