Our volunteers and rescues welcomed seniors from the Mason County Senior Activities Association on Thursday. We showed them how we care for, interact with and provide enrichment for Sunrise Equine Rescue's horses.

Sonny (the handsome Paint) and Abu (his bestie and an Arabian gelding) enjoyed the extra grooming, attention and obstacle course during these demonstrations.

It's important to remember how far these rescues have come. Check out the photo of Sonny showing his condition when he arrived to our rescue. So proud of his progress and grateful to our donors who make days like this possible!

Help us continue feeding and caring for our rescues with a donation or consider becoming a volunteer. DM for details!

With the heat and smoke coming over the next few days, please take care of yourselves. Drink plenty of water, take it easy, and don’t overdo it. Tomorrow’s air quality is expected to reach 105 (normally 20), so you may want to wear a mask if you need to go outside. If the heat or smoke bothers you, we encourage you to stay home where you are comfortable and safe. Conditions should improve by the weekend.
