Hosted by John Zebrowski, VP of Corporate Affairs at Extra Duty Solutions, alongside Mitchell Sklar, this episode features Bill Elliott, founder and chairman of the John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers.

In July 2000, Bill’s son, U.S. Navy Ensign John R. Elliott, was killed by a drunk driver. Bill and his wife, Muriel, turned that grief into a lifesaving mission, building a nonprofit dedicated to ending drunk driving tragedies and preventing other families from experiencing the same loss.

Bill shares John’s story, how the HERO Campaign came to be, and how law enforcement and communities can work together to promote designated drivers and save lives.

Extra Duty Solutions was proud to be represented by Angela Wooten and David Wooten at the Public Safety Action Committee Public Safety Action Committee’s (PSAC) “Night of Connection” event Saturday evening!

The event brought together public safety professionals, elected officials, community leaders, and supporters from across North Carolina for an evening dedicated to connection, appreciation, and the importance of first responder's health and wellness.

Angela and David had the pleasure of sitting with Chief Caleb Shockley of the Nashville Police Department and retired Fire Chief Corey Mercer from Rocky Mount Fire Department, enjoying an evening of meaningful conversations and fellowship.

At Extra Duty Solutions, we understand that supporting those who serve goes beyond their daily responsibilities. The health and well-being of our first responders and their families are equally important, and events like this provide valuable opportunities to strengthen relationships, share experiences, and support one another.
