Today SFD was happy to assist the Morgan Academy with their pumpkin drop. This has been a yearly event we truly enjoy doing. Last year SFD challenged the Morgan academy teachers and parents to build a pumpkin to compete against SFD this year. We are happy to say SFD won the bragging rights this year and look forward to next years event.

It’s been a busy morning for Shepherdstown Volunteers! This morning we were fortunate to have S&K Enterprises at the fire house for their annual CPR&First Aid course! Immediately after that, we were at Canterbury teaching an emergency preparedness class that is the beginning stage of a full training exercise in the spring!

Today, Shepherdstown Fire Department pauses to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, including the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on that somber day!

We honor their courage, their service, and the families who continue to carry their memory.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

We would like to take a moment to recognize one of our Jr/Cadet members. Hunter Dorsey is not just a dedicated Jr/Cadet with SFD but he is also a member of the FFA. Pictured below is Hunter as a Livestock Exhibitor. Keep up the good work Hunter.

The SFD Jr/Cadet program is open to those interested in serving the community as young as 15 but no older than 18. Check out our webpage for more information.

WOW. What an incredible community. ❤️

On behalf of everyone involved in this donation drive, thank you.

Because of your generosity, we were able to collect an incredible amount of water, cleaning supplies, paper products, hygiene items, and other essential supplies that will be delivered to our neighbors impacted by the recent flooding.

Whether you dropped off a single case of water, filled a truck bed, donated supplies, or simply helped spread the word—you made a difference. Every donation represents a family that will have a little less to worry about during an incredibly difficult time.

A special thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to collect, organize, load, and transport these donations. Community isn’t just a word—it’s people showing up for one another when it matters most.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for proving once again that when our community is called upon, you always answer.

Together, we’re helping our neighbors begin the road to recovery. ❤️🚒🙏
