Did you know school lunches are specifically designed to give your kids the right balance of real, whole nutrients while keeping added sugars and sodium low? 🍎🥦✨ In fact, school meals are often the most well-balanced, nutrient-dense meals children eat all day! The science backs it up, too: research from Tufts University and the USDA shows that school lunches have a higher overall nutritional quality than meals brought from home or bought elsewhere. Studies reveal that students who eat school lunch consume significantly more whole grains, milk, fruits, and vegetables, and fewer sugary snacks or drinks, than their peers who pack a lunch. 🥦 School Meals: Nutrition That Matters! 🍎

School meal programs are held to some of the highest nutrition standards in the food service industry. Every meal served must meet rigorous federal nutrition requirements designed to promote the health and well-being of our students, including standards for calories, saturated fat, added sugars, sodium, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and more.

For many children, the meals they receive at school are among the healthiest and most balanced meals they will have each day. That is a responsibility we take seriously.

At Bullitt County Public Schools, we are proud to provide nutritious, delicious meals that fuel our students for learning, growing, and succeeding. Our #1 core value is Students Matter Most! 💙🍽️

Learning takes energy! 📚⚡ Nutritious school meals help fuel Kentucky students so they can focus, learn and make the most of their school day. 🍎🥕

Healthy meals aren’t just food on a tray — they’re fuel for the future.
