It is extremely hot outside and with the temperatures high it dries out grass. Grant county has now been placed in the extreme fire danger. While Grant county is not under a burn ban as of yet we strongly urge not to do any out door burning.
Thank you.

As of today, 19 counties in southern Arkansas are at high wildfire risk, and the rest of the state remains at a moderate risk. Burn bans are now in place in 41 counties. Under these conditions, fires ignite easily, spread quickly, and can become serious. Unattended brush piles and campfires are likely to escape, and hot, dry weather will continue to push fire risk higher in the coming days.

Report any wildfire immediately to the Department’s Forestry Dispatch at 1‑800‑468‑8834.

Up‑to‑date conditions can be viewed on the Department’s county‑by‑county wildfire map: https://mip.agri.arkansas.gov/agtools/Forestry/Fire_Info

Good afternoon Belfast Fire Department members and community.
Although we are currently not in a burn ban we still urge you to refrain from burning outside.
Conditions are dry and hot.
Please be mindful of these conditions because if there is a fire the fire fighters that respond have to dress in gear that makes it even more hotter than the regular temperature is which can cause the firefighter to suffer from heat exhaustion or worse.
Thank you Belfast Fire training officer

Good evening Belfast Fire Department members and community.
This morning Tull Fire Department along with Shaw Fire Department was toned out for a missing person along the saline county river.
This search extended up into the evening.
Around 4 Belfast 901 assisted in the search as a fresh member. We had several agencies that assisted with this search.
Tull fire department, Shaw Fire department, Haskell Fire Department, Turtle Creek Fire Department, Saline County OEM, Prattsville Fire Department, and Grant County Search And Resuce.
We broke the search party up into three groups one on water and two groups on ground.
Thankfully the person was found shortly after the afternoon search took place.
This is what the fire service is all about. Neighbors helping neighbors.
If you ever want to make a difference in your community join your local Volunteer Fire Department.
Thanks for all those that assisted in this search and what a great job everyone worked great together.

Good afternoon Belfast Fire Department members and community.
This next week's training has been moved from Thursday night to Monday night and will be at the OEM center. We will be doing mutual aide training with the departments in the county and MEMS on medical emergencies that we respond to. We will also be doing a mutual aide training Tuesday night with Tull Fire Department.
As always we are looking for volunteers that want to serve and protect this wonderful community that we live in. No training necessary as we provide the training.
If interested in joining the department please stop by our station on Grant 54 any training night as we will be more than glad to talk and visit with you.
Thanks Your Belfast Training Officer

Thanks to anheuser-busch for this generous donation of drinking water. For one month of the year they shut down and make drinking water for the first responders.
This water will come in handy for training and servering our community while out on calls.
Thanks again for everything y'all do for our first responders.

This past weekend your Belfast Fire Department hosted advanced auto ext class. There were members from Tull Fire & Rescue, Belfast Fire Department, and Grapevine Fire Department. This class was instructed by Belfast Training Officer and Fire Academy Instructor Fount Barnes. This class teaches the skills of safely stabilizing a vehicle before cutting on the car.
Big thanks and shout out to Scott Hollinger and the Grant County Rescue for bringing Rescue out and allowing the class to use the struts and tools that rescue has on the trucks for wrecks. Also thanks Scott for the sharing of the knowledge he recently received while out of state on a extrication class.
This is what the fire service is all about always learning and furthering your education.
