We’ve been upgraded as “Extreme” here in Grant County. Please help spread the word!

Grant County has been upgraded to an extreme wildfire danger due to strong winds and dry air forecasted to enter the state overnight. This mixed with the ongoing drought brings an extreme risk for fires to get out of control. Grant County remains under a burn ban!

This weekend will be terrible fire weather with low humidity/dry air and winds that will make any fire difficult to contain.

We’ve had a couple of questions today regarding the burn ban for Grant County. Although we have received some rain over the last couple of days, several locations around the county received very little.

That being said, yes, Grant County is still under a Burn Ban until further notice.
