Saturday, a few members of the fire department joined the Montcalm County Fire Association Honor Guard and participated in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at LMCU Park in Grand Rapids. As a group, we finished in 2nd place in fundraising for the event to benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Lt. Chad Wittingen, Probationary Firefighters Giovanni Reboolar and Johnny Rebollar climbed 110 stories in honor and to remember those who lost their lives. Our Pastor Phil VanDop joined us and played an important role in leading the event in prayer and doing what he has done for years. Great Job to Everyone involved in a day that was filled with remembrance, memories, emotion, brother and sisterhood, tears, family, and honor.

🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, Sheridan Fire Department pauses to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the incredible courage and sacrifice shown by firefighters, police officers, first responders, and ordinary Americans on that tragic day.

We especially remember the 343 FDNY firefighters who gave their lives while answering the call. Their courage, dedication, and willingness to run toward danger will never be forgotten.

To the families who lost loved ones, to the survivors, and to all those whose lives were forever changed — we remember you.

25 years later, we still remember. We still honor. We will never forget.

🇺🇸 9•11•2001 — NEVER FORGET 🇺🇸

❤️ THANK YOU! ❤️

We can’t begin to thank everyone enough who came out last night to support the Danny Lund Memorial Fundraiser. The turnout, generosity, and support from our community was incredible, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make the night such a success.

A huge THANK YOU to every person and business who donated raffle and auction items, contributed to the fundraiser, bought tickets, bid on items, donated toward the meal, or simply came out to spend the evening with us. Every bit of support meant more than we can say.

🌮 The Rebollar Family — Thank you for volunteering your time to prepare and serve an amazing taco dinner for everyone. We appreciate all the time and work you put into feeding such a big crowd!

🎶 Kati Harmon with Harmony Productions — Thank you for volunteering your time and keeping the music going all night as our DJ!

🍻 Shari & De with Events by Shari — Thank you for being behind the bar serving drinks!

And thank you to everyone who helped set up, clean up, organize, sell tickets, run the raffles and auction, serve food, and lend a hand wherever it was needed. Events like this truly take a village.

Most importantly, thank you for helping us come together to remember and celebrate Danny Lund while supporting the Sheridan Fire Department in his memory. Seeing so many people show up for Danny, his family, and our department was something very special.

From all of us at the Sheridan Community Fire Department — THANK YOU. We are incredibly grateful to be part of such a generous and supportive community. ❤️🚒
