A few of your firefighters spent today cleaning up the station. Behind the scenes is often not seen but equally as important as the calls we run.
This helps keep everything organized and ready to make the calls. A huge thank you to all those that make the department run smoothly.

No burning of any kind.

Grant county is still under a burn ban.

Hopefully rain will come and the ban can be lifted but for now it is entirely too dry to risk burning up yards, fields, forests, and yes even homes can be quickly consumed by fire by just burning a little harmless pile of leaves.

Please adhere to the burn ban until further notice.

Grant County’s first Hero Rodeo was a huge success. We would like to thank all those who worked hard to put it together and came out to support your local military and first responders.

All participants did an excellent job showing teamwork and camaraderie.

Cane Creek Fire department had 2 members with special recognition, Assistant Chief Steven Gifford and Sargent Jason Benham.
Austin Brewer got second place in boot scramble and first place in the pony express relay. Christopher Brewer took home second place in the chute do**in, and Steven Gifford got third place in the boot scramble.

Twenty-five years after Sept. 11, 2001, we pause to remember the lives lost, honor the first responders and service members who answered the call, and recognize the resilience of a nation forever changed by that day.

The legacy of 9/11 lives not only in remembrance, but in the generations of Americans who chose service, sacrifice and commitment to something greater than themselves.

Today, we honor the fallen, those who responded in our nation’s darkest hours, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Grant county is still under a burn ban.

A sincere thank you to the community for adhering to this burn ban. We appreciate you all for helping us stay safe during this extensive heat wave and drought.

All 75 Arkansas counties are now under high wildfire risk, and more than 65 counties have active burn bans. Persistent drought and extremely dry vegetation mean fires can start easily, spread rapidly, and become difficult to control. As we head into the holiday weekend, we’re asking all Arkansans to stay alert and take steps to reduce wildfire ignition.

Please take these precautions:

- Avoid all outdoor burning. This includes campfires, trash burning, grilling with open flames, and any prescribed or controlled burns.
- Never leave any outdoor flame unattended.
- Use caution when driving or operating equipment near dry vegetation. Avoid driving over tall or dry grass, ensure trailer chains aren’t dragging, and do not drive on flat tires.
- Properly extinguish and dispose of cigarettes—never discard them outdoors.
- Report smoke or fire immediately by calling 1‑800‑468‑8834.

Stay informed by monitoring the Department’s county‑by‑county fire map, reviewing active incidents on the wildfire dashboard, and following our updates on social media.
