Our February event will be volunteering at the Stray Cat Alliance. They are very excited to have our SAGE students come and play with the cats, provide fresh water and food, and change out their blankets. Since it is a small space, the max number of students they can take is 20!

Laser Tag with SAGE!
 
SPA’s VERY FIRST “all you can play” laser tag FUNdraiser at Ultrazone in Sherman Oaks is scheduled for January 11, 2024 from 4:30 PM - 8:30 PM.

The Details

    •    All are welcome: students, siblings, grown-ups (and brave teachers!) 
    •    Ticket prices: $25 presale/$30 at the door
    •    Purchase presale tickets via Venmo -parentsassociation and be sure to include each participants name in the notes. 
    •    Pre-sale prices are only available until Wednesday, January 10th! (SO ACT FAST!)
    •    Ticket price is PER PLAYER/PARTICIPANT
    •    Pizza, drinks, and snacks will be available for cash or Venmo purchase only
    •    This is not an LAUSD or Armstrong endorsed activity: SPA is not responsible for any minor prior, during, or after the event
    •    Students & participants must be picked up by 8:30PM

This will be the last chance for SAGE students to get in some Service Hours before we go on break. We have done an AMAZING job with out Service Hours this semester - let’s finish up strong and show some SAGE spirit!

Tomorrow is our big Heal the Bay beach clean up field trip! Do NOT forget to wear your class level SAGE t-shirt, be ready for beach yoga, and be prepared to build the best sandcastle with your field trip team. There WILL be prizes!

The SAGE grade level shirts are IN!! Green is 6th grade, red is 7th, and purple is 8th. These will be distributed on Monday morning, free of charge to every SAGE student, to then be worn on Monday’s big Heal the Bay beach clean-up field trip - the first of three beach clean-ups! These t-shirts will be worn on every SAGE field trip - and buckle up because we have a LOT of field trips booked for next semester. To be exact, there are NINE SAGE field trips booked for the spring. So keep these cool new shirts clean and ready to GOOOOO!!!

One of the most remarkable components of the SAGE Magnet is the SAGE Crochet Club. This is an Advisory, taught by Ms. Lee, where SAGE students crochet scarves and beanies to then be donated to shelters that support survivors of domestic abuse. The club members also run crochet lessons, available to the entire school. The first year they donated 25 scarves. The second year they donated 175. This year, they’ve donated over 250 AND WE’RE ONLY HALFWAY THROUGH THE YEAR. Thank you to Ms. Lee and the Crochet Club kids for warming the hearts of humans who need it most, especially during this holiday season. ❤️❤️❤️🧶🧶🧶

It’s a holiday party - SAGE style! Come join us next Monday on Lauble Lawn for holiday food, fun, and games - then head to the library to help assemble care kits for L.A. Family Housing.
