September Building Report

We have exceeded 500 new single-family building permits in 2026! This brings the year-to-date total to 520 new single-family permits.

Commercial building permits were also issued for a trucking logistics center at 1300 W. Travis Street and a retail strip center at East FM 1417 at South Carolina Drive.

It's official Sherman! 🥞 ☕ 🍳

The Development Services department has received a site plan application for 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙒𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝 located at the former Taco Cabana location 3721 N US Highway 75. The site plan will be on the agenda for the October 20, 2026, Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.

Sherman continues to grow, and we’re excited to share updates on what’s coming to our community! Stay tuned!

August Building Report

Sherman home building continues at a fast pace, with 105 additional single-family home building permits issued in August. This brings the total to 𝟒𝟕𝟓 new single-family permits so far for 2026!

In addition, we issued a new commercial building permit for an Ambulatory Surgical Center and Eye Care Facility at 2110 W Washington Street.
