The monarchs are on their way to the Sherman Public Library! Library staff received training today on how to properly handle and tag monarch butterflies.

Why tag a butterfly? We want to know where they go so we can plant more food for them and protect their rest stops during their migration down to Mexico. You can help the butterflies, too, by planting native flowers. Come by the library to see if you can spot a visitor at Harmony Park or the Monarch Waystation.

For more information on monarch butterfly conservation, visit monarchwatch.org.

Removing a well-loved, tattered library book that is no longer being checked out may feel sad, but removing it from circulation makes space for newer editions or other materials relevant to the current needs of our patrons.

Never fear though, this item and many others will get a chance at a new home at our Friends of the Library Book Sale on Sept. 19th from 8am-2pm at 1000 N. East St. All proceeds fund library programs and materials!
