At approximately 5:15 this morning, The Stanley Hose Company was dispatched mutual aid to Clymer for a reported barn and shop fire.
Engine 282, Engine 281, Rescue 282, Miscellaneous 281, and Ambulance 281 responded to the scene with 12 Stanley Hose Company firefighters.
Upon arrival, crews found the barn and shop fully involved. With a residence located nearby, firefighters quickly focused their efforts on protecting the home from the intense fire. Thanks to the quick and coordinated work of everyone on scene, the residence was saved with only minimal damage.
Crews remained on scene for several hours working to fully extinguish the fire and hot spots. Unfortunately, the barn and shop were completely destroyed. We are very thankful to report that all of the animals in the barn were able to get out safely, and no injuries were reported.
Departments and agencies assisting included Ashville FD, Clymer FD, Corry FD, Findley Lake FD, Panama FD, The Stanley Hose Company, and Chautauqua County Emergency Services.
Thank you to all of the first responders who came together early this morning. Incidents like this demonstrate the importance of mutual aid and the tremendous teamwork among our area departments.
Please keep the family affected by this devastating fire in your thoughts as they begin to recover from their loss.
