Here's a peek at what your library staff is reading this month!

Paula Pekar, Director
1) Leave Me by Gayle Forman: A novel that confronts the ambivalence of modern motherhood head on and asks, what happens when a grown woman runs away from home.
2) The Road by Cormac McCarthy: A novel that imagines a future in which no hope remains, but in which the father and his son are sustained by love. It is an unflinching meditation on the worst and the best that we are capable of.

Rachael Schroeder, Assistant to Director
1) In the Days of My Youth I Was Told What it Means to be a Man by Tom Junod: A memoir about a charismatic, philandering father who tried to mold his son in his image, the secrets he hid, the son’s quest to uncover them, and ultimately, the true meaning of manhood.
2) Mother is Watching by Karma Brown: This dystopian horror novel explores the intersection between motherhood, art and ambition, and the terror of losing control over one's body and mind.

Rosa Newby, Library Assistant:
1) The Amalfi Curse by Sarah Penner: Powerful witchcraft. A hunt for sunken treasure. Forbidden love on the high seas. Beware the Amalfi Curse…
2) The Girls Trip by Ally Condie: Three friends decide to disappear from their lives for a few days while on a trip to a national park—only to have one of them vanish.
