LCP provides shelter, outreach, and client services in the North Seattle/King County area and works closely with many other organizations, government agencies and service providers. We encourage community members to participate in our collective work through volunteering, advocacy and organizing.

🌲 𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘 Lake City Partners' Aurora Oaks Enhanced Shelter!

The relationship between unsheltered individuals and nature is complex. The benefits many of us gain from being outside in a natural environment (such as improved mental health, better sleep, lower stress, etc.) 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼 when the weather turns bad or you need a safe place to rest.

Thanks to the well-maintained grounds at Aurora Oaks in Shoreline, not only are individuals able to start reconnecting with themselves during their extended stays, but 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘅 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝘀 in our beautiful gardens.

🏠 W first connected with Lake City Partners at one of our 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀, seeking resources and a safe place to stay. He joined us during our Winter Shelter season and stayed every night we were open. When the season ended, LCP helped him transition into Aurora Oaks Enhanced Shelter, 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗺𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀.

Over the next few months, our case management team walked alongside W, exploring housing options, making calls to landlords, and helping with applications. We saw his hope begin to grow with each successful step he took towards housing.

Then came the call he had been waiting years for: “𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆.” In just a matter of days, W packed up and moved into his new home! Thank you to Seattle Housing Authority for making this connection.

We’re so grateful to have been part of W’s journey and couldn’t be happier to see him begin this next chapter. Congratulations, W! Welcome home!

👀 Inside Lake City Partners' Aurora Oaks Enhanced Shelter!

With privacy, stability, time, and individualized support 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱-𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱, the enhanced shelter model creates an environment where clients can step away from the stress of homelessness, regain a sense of safety, and learn to identify their goals and needs outside of just survival.

This space and time has proven time and again to allow unhoused people to make meaningful steps toward housing and long-term stability. This has led to 𝗔𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗢𝗮𝗸𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁-𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆, which is only made possible thanks to all of you. Take a look inside!

September is 𝗦𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵, and those who are unhoused are at increased risk. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs reports that 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘃𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝟭𝟰𝟯% 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 than veterans who are not homeless, and promotes housing stability as a su***de prevention strategy. Other provider and community-based strategies include:

🔹 Early intervention (risk is high immediately 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 actually losing housing)
🔹 Su***de risk screenings and evaluations
🔹 Assistance accessing healthcare and/or substance use treatment
🔹 Assistance accessing employment & benefits
🔹 Connection to community resources

From our friends at Seattle Neighborhood Group: SNG is partnering with the Mayor’s Office to host community listening sessions across the city to provide feedback for the 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲'𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳. These conversations are an opportunity to share your perspective on the experience, leadership, priorities, and qualities you believe Seattle’s next Police Chief should bring to the role.

Have you visited Lake City Partners' 𝗚𝗟𝗔 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿? In the first half of 2026 at the Day Center we:

🧺 Washed 850 loads of laundry
🚿 Provided 2,800 showers
🧑‍🤝‍🧑 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝟲,𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀!

The Day Center, located in the Lake City neighborhood, is a warm and welcoming space for our unhoused neighbors to get their basic needs met. With an emphasis on 𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, we have a warm smile and a hot cup of coffee for everyone who crossed through these doors.

It is a vital meeting space for our Client Services team, and many other service providers around the county. Supported by our team and many wonderful volunteers and donors, we are grateful our community helps keep this place humming!
